2012 Agharta Mt Terraces Cabernet Sauvignon
Mountain Terraces is a dramatic vineyard that looks down over the Sonoma Valley & The Monte Rosso Vineyard, which is about 500 feet below this mountain-top perch. Rare Rhyolite soils cover just the top portion of this vineyard, whereas the lower part is covered in the more typical red Monte Rosso soils of the area. Our wine is sourced from just the bright white Rhyolite at the very top and the wine is beautifully textured and finessed because of this.
Winemaker's Tasting Notes
Ripe black berries, cassis, tar, white flowers & crème de mure dominate the aromas of this overtly aromatic Cabernet Sauvignon. The Richly textured concentration is evidence of the shallow Rhyolite soils and meticulous farming, while the supple tannins reveal the intensity of the slope. This impressive wine is complete with gorgeous fruit that is extremely fresh and vibrant from this windy perch. Long and textured, this Cab will certainly improve in your cellar, but is drinking beautifully on release as well.
